A Life of Music

Micky Balls started playing the guitar at the tender age of 10 in North Tyneside. In his early days he played with many well-known artists including Brian Johnson (ACDC) and Gordon Sumner (Sting); this was a time when much musical talent was evidently coming out of the area and Mick was one of them.

 

 Mick studied at music college and went on to play in a number of bands including Half Breed, which quickly made a name for themselves being signed to Doctor Feelgood’s record label, touring nationally and internationally. Currently Mick plays with the Fabulous Balls Brothers and All Shine No Shoes, as well as playing solo shows often.

 

Over the years Mick has become a well-known musician and a treasure to the music community in the North East, due to his high skill level and work ethic, teaching as well as playing at venues on a daily basis for over 30 years.

 

Because of Mick’s love for playing the guitar and being involved in music at all levels, he has a real passion for teaching and helping groups and individuals to improve their skills. Mick has been teaching at secondary and high schools for a number of years to groups of students in a class room setting, being instrumental in developing budding musicians.

 

However, Mick conducts one to one daily lessons at his property in Ashington, Northumberland, which serves as a perfect teaching environment for students to learn. Mick ensures all lessons are highly productive and students learn as much as possible in their lesson, meaning you will always be leaving a lesson with a new guitar skill you will want to show off to your friends.
